What my stylist would chose for me...

Updated: Feb 21

I've had many clients say they will never go back to "normal shopping again" after using the personal styling service at Nordstrom. For them, it's free, fast and helpful, something most of my clients don't feel when they shop in other stores. Instead, they are standing half naked outside the fitting room trying to find someone to grab them another size, feeling overwhelmed, hot and ready to leave.

So I have daydreamed of winning the lottery and having the same energy I give my clients focused on me. In my daydream, money is no object and these are the pieces I know my stylist would pick for me.

First up, Hugo Boss. It always fits like a dream, in that they design for a woman's body, not a 14 year old boy. It can be worn to any professional engagement and I figure after I win the lottery I will be running a large charity organization so I will need pieces like this. And the heels, ok, so if you don't have a perfect nude pump in your wardrobe, you need one. Nude pumps go with EV-R-E-THING! I actually almost strictly wore nude pumps the first year I was a stylist with Nordstrom because it was one less thing I had to think about in the morning. And now that runners are in, I wear those everyday and my back thanks me. But for occasions like this, nude pumps are a must.

I'm sorry if I constantly talk about Alexander McQueen, but as a stylist and former Fashion Designer we all fall in love with certain designers that appeal to our aesthetic. The drama he used to create in his fashion shows, and the attention to (elaborate) detail he used was a fashion student's dream. He has sadly passed, and Sarah Burton now carries on his vision as his former right hand design aide turned Creative Director. SO back to my dream clothes. I would buy this T-Shirt for $745 and not bat an eye.

I think I would have a whole closet of LBD's (Little Black Dresses) if I could. Actually I kinda do, but look how cute this one is by Alexander Wang! I would have wonderful parties to go to in Cannes and I could wear this to a late night club with my hubby! Oh, the life I am imagining ;)

And finally, this beautifully dress by a new brand we are carrying at Nordstrom, Ganni. The way it moves when you walk makes you feel like a sex kitten, not just because of the print, but the peek-a-boo leg and the flow. And this one is a steal from the rest of the things I tried on at $395!

Clothes are meant to be fun, entertaaining, easy, delightful... I could go on. It's a light repreive from the rest of our crazy lives, right?

Hope this litte post was as fun to read and imagine as it was to write.
